Main menu - Tools

The Tools menu group, combines the following commands:

• Split - call out the dialog for splitting selected sequence. The group with operation results will appear in List of sequences and their features and on a map.
• Translation - call out the dialog for building 6-frame translation ("*" means the termination codon) of selected nucleotide sequence. The group with operation results will appear in List of sequences and their features and on a map.
• Reverse/Complement - call out the dialog for perform reverse/complement of selected nucleotide sequence. The group with operation results will appear in List of sequences and their features and on a map.
• Cut/Crop - call out the dialog for perform cut/crop of selected sequence. The group with operation results will appear in List of sequences and their features and on a map.
• Search - call out the dialog for searching motif in selected sequence. Once the search is done, a new level with the search results is appeared on the map and in the List of sequences and their features.
• Motif search - call out the dialog for setting up the motif search parameters. The "Motif sequence" field allows to specify the sequence to search for (sequence must not contain gaps, otherwise the motif shall not be found). The "Mismatch" field allows to specify the maximal allowed number of mismatches. Once the search is done, a new level with the search results is appeared on the map and in the List of sequences and their features.
• Restriction - call out the dialog for finding positions of the restriction sites for chosen restriction enzymes. The following search parameters can be specified in the dialog:
  - to search for all sites from the list
  - to search for the selected sites only.

Once the search is done, new levels with the search results are appeared on the map and in the List of sequences and their features.
